The court rejected the bail plea of Ketan Kadam and jai Joshi, the main accused in the Mithi river cleaning scam in Mumbai. Both have been sent to judicial custody. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) is investigating the case thoroughly.

They were arrested in the big scam of Rs 65 crore in the Mithi river cleaning project. Let us tell you that Santosh Tore, an officer of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of mumbai Police, who is investigating the case, opposed the bail of both and said that both the accused were fully involved in this scam.

In this scam, the corporation was defrauded of crores of rupees in connivance with BMC officials, contractors and middlemen. It is also alleged that on their advice, BMC decided to rent the machinery used in cleaning from contractors instead of buying it, which benefited private companies a lot.

Crores of commission taken in the guise of machinery

At the same time, EOW has also started questioning deepak Mohan of Matprop Company regarding the scam of crores of rupees in Mithi river cleaning project, which continued till late night. deepak Mohan was asked that when the quotation for buying machinery was given, why was it recommended to rent it from contractors.

EOW alleged that Kadam and Joshi offered to rent these machines for Rs 8 crore for two years and later settled for Rs 4 crore.

EOW's investigation continues with private companies

According to sources in the Economic Offences Wing, according to the investigating officer, many important clues and documentary evidence have come to light in the investigation so far, which are making a strong case against the accused. The investigation is still going on and the role of other officials and private companies involved in the scam is also being investigated.
