According to the electricity department, a raid was conducted at mp Burke's residence on 19 december last year. During this, the electricity team found two connections of two kilowatts at the MP's residence, one in the name of Zia ur Rehman and the other in the name of his grandfather, former mp Dr. Shafiqur rahman Burke. While the consumption in both the meters was zero, after which an investigation was conducted on suspicion of electricity theft, and the theft was detected. After this, a fine of Rs 1.91 crore was imposed.
Fine not paid yet
Till now neither any fine has been paid by the mp nor any notice has been replied to. After which now a final notice has been given against him. After this RC will be cut.
