
The Jammu administration on saturday (June 14) reviewed the travel arrangements in Samba, Kathua regarding Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2025. During this, the administration ordered to emphasize on the security of the pilgrims and CCTV coverage. Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar made an extensive tour of Samba and Kathua districts and inspected and reviewed the arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Shri Amarnathji yatra 2025. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioners of Kathua and Samba as well as senior officers of police and civil administration.
Divisional Commissioner assessed many places including schools
In Samba, the Divisional Commissioner assessed the civic amenities at major lodging centers including baba Ambedkar Hall, Mount Litera School, government HSS Jakh, government GHSS Vijaypur, Municipal Hall Samba and major spiritual stops like Chichi Mata temple and Narsingh Temple. The Divisional Commissioner emphasised on 24x7 power supply, clean drinking water, sanitation and toilet facilities, proper lighting and CCTV surveillance to ensure the safety and comfort of the pilgrims.
Emphasis on facilities along with cleanliness
The Divisional Commissioner then visited Kathua, where he conducted a detailed inspection of the Lakhanpur corridor and Yatri Suvidha Kendra. The Divisional Commissioner directed the Executive Officer of Lakhanpur Municipality to intensify the cleanliness drive, maintain public hygiene and install informative signage for the convenience of the pilgrims. He also asked for the repair and beautification works at Lakhanpur to be completed on time by june 25, as it is the first entry point for pilgrims coming by road.
It was informed that the district administration has set up six RFID counters, a five-bed medical room, cold drinking water stations, langar (community kitchen) facilities, clean toilet blocks and designated resting areas for the pilgrims along the Lakhanpur corridor. The Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the security arrangements and directed the police department to prepare a comprehensive security plan. ASP Kathua was directed to ensure adequate deployment of security personnel at all strategic locations.
