BJP mp Soumendu Adhikari has filed a complaint with the delhi police against cm mamata Banerjee. It is alleged that she tried to tarnish the image of the delhi police by sharing fake and inflammatory videos on social media.

Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) mp and Shubhendu Adhikari's brother, Soumendu Adhikari, has filed a formal complaint with the delhi police, accusing West bengal chief minister mamata banerjee of spreading false and communally provocative information through social media.

The controversy started when mamata banerjee shared a video on her social media accounts, claiming that a bengali migrant woman and her child were allegedly beaten up by the delhi Police. The chief minister portrayed the incident as violence and discrimination against the bengali community and especially migrant laborers.

Soumendu Adhikari alleges conspiracy to mislead the public

Kanthi lok sabha mp Soumendu Adhikari alleged that the chief minister deliberately shared a video that is false and inflammatory. He says that this is a well-planned conspiracy to tarnish the image of the delhi police, mislead the public, and spread communal hatred. He wrote in the complaint, "This video is an attempt to weaken the constitutional structure and social harmony of India. Such an irresponsible act from a person holding a constitutional post like mamata banerjee is highly condemnable."

Delhi Police's denial: The video is baseless and fabricated

On Monday, senior delhi police officer abhishek Dhania clarified that the entire story of the viral video on social media is baseless. He said that the woman concerned, Sanjanu Parveen, has confessed that she made this video at the behest of her relative, who is a political worker in Malda district of West Bengal.

Delhi police claimed that the allegations are false on the basis of CCTV footage, local intelligence, and technical evidence. The woman allegedly said that she was taken to a deserted place and beaten up and extorted Rs 25,000, but no evidence of these claims was found.

Mamata Banerjee's reply - 'I had already warned'

Chief minister mamata banerjee reacted strongly to the clarification given by the delhi Police. Speaking at a government function in Birbhum district, she said, "I had already said that the mother and child will be intimidated. Check the records. That is what is happening now. We will bring them back and prove the truth." She repeatedly stressed that bengali migrant labourers are facing discrimination in other states, and this video is a part of that.
