At an AIADMK rally in Namakkal, tamil Nadu, flags of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor-politician Vijay, were prominently seen.
The rally, held on october 8, was addressed by AIADMK General Secretary and former chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS).
The presence of TVK flags has triggered speculation about a potential alliance between the AIADMK and Vijay's TVK party.
Palaniswami Hints at 'Auspicious Beginning'
While addressing the crowd, Palaniswami pointed at the TVK flags fluttering in the venue.
He described them as a “Pillaiyar Suzhi”, a sacred tamil symbol representing Lord Ganesha, often invoked for auspicious beginnings.
“Look at those flags fluttering. They mark the Pillaiyar Suzhi — an auspicious sign,” said EPS, hinting at possible political cooperation.
TVK Flags Seen Twice at AIADMK Events
This was not the first time TVK flags appeared at an AIADMK event.
Reportedly, the same happened earlier on Thursday, suggesting a deliberate display of camaraderie or coordination between supporters of the two parties.
Context: Recent Tragedy at TVK Rally
The incident comes shortly after a tragic stampede at a TVK welfare event on september 27 in Karur, where 41 people died and over 60 were injured.
The rally was addressed by TVK chief Vijay, drawing criticism from opposition leaders, including EPS.
Despite his past criticism of Vijay and TVK, EPS’s recent remarks and the flag display suggest a shift in political tone.
Speculation Mounts
The public display of TVK flags at an AIADMK rally has fueled discussions about a possible electoral alliance ahead of the 2026 tamil Nadu assembly elections.
However, no official announcement has been made by either party yet.
