One of the rocking moments in Telugu politics was the dethroning of
NT Rama Rao in the year 1995. In 1984 too when NTR was ousted
indirectly by Indira Gandhi through Governor and Bhaskar Rao, there was a
popular movement in United AP that made NTR as CM again.
The
ignominy which Babu earned in 1995 was quickly erased with his own
style of administration, vision and implantation of few development
projects. Thus his hold on TDP was complete. Although Babu was never a
saint, he is widely respected for few things.
Apart
from NTR ouster which had support of his majority leaders and also
later people, Babu never indulged in horse trading of MLAs or similar
acts anytime again. YSR is condemned widely as the architect of
Operation Aakarsha. KCR too had sympathy as he was targeted by YSR but
after Telangana state formation, no matter what excuse KCR could give,
he was targeted for the illegal poaching of rival party MLA’s.
Babu
had commanded respect in this regard till now and also earned sympathy
for TDP’s problems at the hands of KCR in TS, but now whatever sympathy
he had in Telugu region, Babu is losing it with poaching of Jagan camp
leaders!
