On the occasion of mysore dussehra, the karnataka government released new recommendations to avoid the spread of the coronavirus. According to legend, dussehra is reported to be celebrated on the day that Mahishasura, the goddess Chamundeeswari, who tortured the people, was killed. From the 7th (tomorrow) to the 15th, the famed mysore dussehra festival will be celebrated. The dussehra festival is in its 411th year and the Opening Ceremony will take place tomorrow (Thursday) from 8.15 am to 8.45 pm at the Chamundeeswari Amman temple in Chamundimalai, Mysore.


On the 15th, the Jambu ride, the festival's grand finale, takes place. On the same day, the Jambu ride parade will begin at 2.45 p.m. and end at 3.15 p.m. The elephant in this abhimanyu would be carrying 750 kilogrammes of gold, which will be maintained by Chamundeeswari Amman. The karnataka government has produced a guideline for the celebration of mysore dussehra, which includes some limitations aimed at preventing the spread of corona. 


With the start of the dussehra season, the mysore Bailiff festival is in full flow. Electronically decorated streets, government buildings, and regions where ancient monuments are located. Due to terrorist threats, mysore has implemented a three-tier security system. Last year, the historically significant dussehra event was cancelled because of the spread of the corona.
