Both ahmedabad and lucknow have been included in the IPL squad.

CVC capital Partners has acquired ahmedabad for Rs 7,090 crore.

RPSG Group has bought the lucknow team for Rs 5,625 crore.

The bidding process for both teams took place in Dubai. Ten companies worth Rs 10 lakh had bought the tender application. The base price of the teams was set at Rs 2,000 crore.

The bcci Annual General Meeting in ahmedabad today approved the addition of two more teams to the IPL series. It has been said that these two teams will be fielding only from 2022.

Speaking on the merger a few days ago, a bcci executive said,

"We are considering merging two more teams. Most of the team owners have demanded that the IPL series be held in April.

Thus, it is not possible to hold a mega auction in the intervening months. If mega bidding is not possible then joining new teams is also not possible. Thus, new teams are only likely to bang from 2022 onwards.

Owners who buy the team at the mega auction will have trouble bidding. Even if it all ends by the end of February, there will be an urgency to hold the series. We are considering all these issues. ”

Because of this, it is said that in 2021, two new teams will not be able to compete. In addition, live television will be licensed to broadcast only 60 matches from 2018 to 2022.

For this, they pay Rs 16,347.50 crore to the BCCI. As the competition intensifies they will have to pay even bigger sums. The bcci is said to be considering this as well.
