WPL 2026 Auction Details
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 Auction will be held on the 27th of this month.
Each franchise has been allotted a purse of ₹15 crore for team building.
Teams were allowed to retain a maximum of five players before the auction.
The retention lists for all five teams have now been officially released.
🔴 RCB’s Retention Strategy
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) retained four players ahead of the auction.
The franchise’s decisions have left their purse half empty, with a large portion spent on star players.
RCB, the 2024 WPL champions, will enter the 2026 auction with ₹6.15 crore remaining.
💰 RCB-W Retained Players and Their Prices
1. Smriti Mandhana (Captain) – ₹3.5 crore
The costliest retention and one of the most valuable players in WPL history.
2. Richa Ghosh (Wicketkeeper-Batter) – ₹2.75 crore
Retained as a crucial middle-order and wicketkeeping option.
3. Ellyse Perry (All-rounder) – ₹2 crore
Brings balance and experience to the side.
4. Shreyanka Patil (Bowler) – ₹60 lakh
Young talent retained for her impactful performances in previous seasons.
Total Spent: ₹8.85 crore
Remaining Purse: ₹6.15 crore (≈ $1.5 million)
