The Star Wars antagonist Darth Maul will not appear in Obi-Waan Kenobi since he was eliminated from the Disney+ tv drama. Ewan McGregor reprises his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the highly anticipated upcoming Star Wars episode, which will be released by Lucasfilm. Deborah Chow, who helmed The Mandalorian, will direct the six-episode drama, which will premiere on Disney+ at the conclusion of May 2022. The veil of secrecy enveloping the Jedi's tv show began to lift lately as the marketing campaign started, including the publication of the first Obi-Waan Kenobi trailer, after making fans wait years to see McGregor's Obi-Wan again.

The teaser trailer was released alongside first-look pictures and interviews, all of which gave Star Wars fans have a clearer idea of what to expect from the show. Obi-Wan Kenobi is set ten years after Star Wars: episode III - Revenge of the Sith, and will once again pit Obi-Wan against Anakin Skywalker, a.k.a. Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen). With the start of the marketing campaign, it was also confirmed that other villains known as Inquisitors will be included. Fans of Star Wars will recognise these Jedi hunters from earlier canon sources, but this will be their first live-action appearance. Many people have speculated that one of the show's villains could be Darth Maul, Kenobi's long-time foe.
