According to the team's lead researcher Lucy Giuri, the star VY is probably the most massive star in our Milky Way. A team of astronomers has created the first detailed and three-dimensional (3D) picture of a massive star. The team, led by astronomers from the university of Arizona, obtained an image of a giant star named 'VY Canis Majoris'. Such stars are very huge and rare. Their number in the Milky Way is said to be very less. The star the scientists analyzed is located in the southern constellation of Canis Major, at a distance of 3,009 light-years from Earth. It is described as a pulsating variable star whose size is believed to be between 10,000 and 15,000 astronomical units.

According to the team's lead researcher Lucy Giuri, the star VY is probably the most massive star in our Milky Way. It is quite large and there are also eruptions in it every 200 years. Another lead researcher, Ambesh Singh, said the team wanted to know what happens in the late stages of a star's life. Until now we used to think that supernova explosions happen in big stars, but now we are not sure about it. Researchers are still getting more information about this star. With this, a better resolution image of the star will be made in the coming time.

Talking about other news related to stars, astronomers have detected a new born pulsar, which may be only 14 years old. Scientists observed this pulsar after the explosion in a supernova and the energy released from it. This pulsar has been found in a galaxy 395 million light years away from Earth. It was first seen as an object in the year 2018 through the Very Large Array Sky survey (VLASS) located in New Mexico. This is a young pulsar, whose age may be only 14 years. This claim has been made by astronomy professor Greg Hallinan, who was part of the team that identified this pulsar.

A pulsar is a type of neutron star. Neutron stars are formed when a main class star compresses due to its own size and weight. It then collapses in a supernova explosion, thanks to which pulsar stars are formed. The name of the neutron star just discovered is 'VT 1137-0337'.
