Do you use google Chrome for browsing? This app will no longer work on these smartphones

Google Chrome: If you use google Chrome browser for browsing, then there is an important update for you. The company is going to end its support of some smartphones.

Google Chrome

For browsing, we all mostly use Google's Chrome browser on our smartphones. If you also use this browser then there is an important update for you. The company is going to stop support for google Calendar and Chrome on Android Nougat 7.1. This is because providing support for older versions is time-consuming and expensive. If you are using a device with Android Nougat 7.1 version or any phone later than this, then the new update of google Chrome will not be available on your smartphone. For such users, Chrome v119 will be the final version.

As per the  report, for google Calendar, the official blog post states that google has added a new "UnsupportedOperatingSystem__enabled" flag in the latest version of the app. When turned on, this flag will show a pop-up message asking users to upgrade to Android Oreo 8.0 or higher to continue using the app. At present, it is not known when the company will end support for google Calendar.

Only 3% of Android users are running Android Nougat

Earlier this year, google updated its Android version distribution statistics on Android Studio. It was revealed that the Android Nougat 7.1 operating system was running on about 3 percent of the total Android devices. Keeping this in mind, the company is ending app support from this OS version. Due to fewer users, the company has to spend more money on providing support, which is not beneficial at all. Note, if you continue to use the app on the old version, then attackers can easily access your device because the apps are not built according to the latest technology. Nor do they provide security support.
