If you’ve ever worried about downloading your Aadhaar card from the uidai website, there’s good news — you can now download your Aadhaar card directly on WhatsApp using an official government chatbot. This new service is designed to make retrieving your Aadhaar safer, faster, and more convenient without visiting a website or dealing with CAPTCHA challenges.

How It Works

The government of india has integrated whatsapp with the MyGov Helpdesk chatbot, which links to DigiLocker, a secure wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital document storage service. Once you use the whatsapp service, you can receive your Aadhaar card as a digitally signed PDF that has the same legal validity as the printed version.

Here’s the step‑by‑step process:

1. Save the official whatsapp contact
Add +91‑9013151515 as “MyGov Helpdesk” in your phone’s contacts.

2. Open whatsapp and start a chat
Message the saved number with a greeting like “Hi” or “Namaste.”

3. Choose “DigiLocker Services”
When the chatbot replies, select DigiLocker Services from the menu.

4. Confirm or set up DigiLocker
If you already have a DigiLocker account linked to your Aadhaar, confirm that. Otherwise, you’ll need to set up a DigiLocker account and link it to Aadhaar first.

5. Enter your 12‑digit Aadhaar number
Provide your Aadhaar number when prompted.

6. Verify with OTP
You’ll receive a one‑time password (OTP) on the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar. Enter the OTP in the whatsapp chat to verify.

7. Receive your Aadhaar PDF
After verification, the chatbot will show documents stored in your DigiLocker. Choose Aadhaar, and the Aadhaar card PDF will be sent directly in the whatsapp chat.

Key Things to Know

✅ The Aadhaar PDF is password‑protected and digitally signed by UIDAI, giving it official validity.
✅ You need your mobile number linked with Aadhaar and DigiLocker for this to work.
✅ The service is free and available 24×7.
✅ You do not need to visit the uidai portal or use complicated forms.

Security Reminder

Always use the official MyGov Helpdesk number (+91‑9013151515) and avoid responding to unverified whatsapp messages claiming to provide Aadhaar updates or downloads, as those could be scams. Never share your Aadhaar number or OTP with untrusted sources.
