Famous malayalam rapper, lyricist Vedan and eight others were arrested after ganja was recovered from his flat in Tripunithura. police gave this information on Monday. Vedan, a native of thrissur district, is actually named Hirandas Murali. According to the information received, Hill Palace police raided the flat, where nine people including Vedan were present.

A police officer said that during the raid, five grams of ganja was recovered from the flat. A police officer said, "This place was used by Vedan and his companions for singing practice. During interrogation, Vedan admitted to consuming ganja." Apart from ganja, his mobile phone and about Rs 9.50 lakh in cash were also seized from the spot.

The officer said that the cash amount is said to have been received as fees for his music program. According to the police, the arrest of all the accused has been registered and later they were released on bail from the police station after a health check-up. police said that an investigation will be initiated to trace the source of the seized drugs.

Meanwhile, sources said that an object resembling a leopard tooth was found on the gold chain carried by the rapper. Forest officials confirmed that it was a leopard tooth after examining the object.
