Harley-Davidson has rolled out the Fat Boy Grey Ghost, the 5th version in its Icons motorcycle collection, celebrating 35 years of the mythical Fat Boy.
Restrained to just 1,990 units globally—a nod to the 1990 debut—this extraordinary bike blends nostalgic design with the present-day era, priced at $25,399 (around Rs 21.65 lakh).
A tribute to fat custom fashion
The Fat Boy Gray Ghost dazzles with its reflection end, a chrome-like sheen accomplished via physical vapor deposition (PVD). This innovative system coats the gas tank and fenders, marking the primary time Harley-Davidson has applied PVD to such huge additives on a manufacturing version. The end result is a mirror-like brilliance that surpasses traditional chrome plating at the same time as meeting stringent corrosion-resistance requirements.
"The unique Fat Boy redefined custom style with its bold proportions and put up-warfare DNA," said Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson's VP of layout and creative director. "The Gray Ghost amplifies that legacy with a modern-day, industrial facet."
Nostalgic touches include a spherical air cleanser, yellow accents on the powertrain and tank console, and a leather-based seat valance with lacing and tassels. The enduring winged gas tank medallions and a serialized tank console insert pay homage to the unique, even as an Icons collection medallion embellishes the rear fender. Chrome facet covers and a brilliant silver powder-coated frame hold the radiant look, paired with exclusive Lakester solid aluminum wheels and Michelin Scorcher eleven tires (160/60R18 front, 240/40R18 rear).
energy and performance upgrades
Powering the gray Ghost is a 1,923cc V-dual engine, delivering 101 bhp at 4,800 rpm and 166 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. Enhanced with a 2-into-2 exhaust and advanced muffler materials, the engine emphasizes deep, resonant tones. A body-installed oil cooler and cylinder head cooling passages ensure rider consolation in warm conditions or low-pace use.
The motorcycle functions recalibrated suspension for most efficient comfort, with twin-bending valve 49mm front forks and hydraulic preload adjustment for the rear. Selectable experience modes (avenue, rain, game) tailor overall performance, while Harley-Davidson's rider protection improvements include cornering ABS, traction control, and tire strain tracking. All-LED lighting fixtures, a USB-C electricity port, relocated heated tool connectors, and a new 5-inch analog-virtual tool cluster raise the user experience.
With only 1,990 devices produced, the Fat Boy Gray Ghost is a collector's dream, blending iconic style with present-day performance. Even though there is no official confirmation regarding its launch in India, thinking about the constrained international production of just 1,990 gadgets, it remains to be seen if any will make it to the USA.
