'Vir Chakra' award for Captain Abhinandan who blasted down a Pakistani warplane!!!

Abhinandan, who was captured by the Pakistani army on 28 february 2019, was released on march 1 of the same year. This was followed by promotions in the air Force. President Ramnath Govind presents Vir Chakra Award to indian air Force Group Captain Abhinandan. The convention was taken place at the Presidential Palace. In 2019, 40 soldiers were tragically killed in a suicide attack on a vehicle carrying CRPF soldiers in Pulwama area of Kashmir. In retaliation, the indian air Force launched an offensive against the Jaish-e-Mohammed militant camps in Balakot, which borders Pakistan.

This led to tensions between the two countries. Both countries' air forces were involved in the chase. As part of this, a Pakistani-owned F-16 fighter jet was shot down by a MiG-21 Bison jet fired by indian Wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman. At the same time, the plane carrying Abhinandan was shot down inside the Pakistani border. There was great excitement when the Pakistani army arrested Abhinandan and released a video of him being rescued with bleeding wounds. Abhinandan had become a hotly debated protagonist across the country during his captivity. Young people, with mustaches like him, trended on social media. Now he has been awarded 'Vir chakra' honoring him for his duty and bravery.
