Who will be the next commander in Chief of Armed forces?
Bipin Rawat, India's former commander-in-chief, has been killed in a helicopter crash in Coonoor. The Union government has created the post of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), the most powerful Commander-in-Chief of the three Armed Forces (CDS) in Parliament, through legislation for the defense sector, replacing Bipin Rawat, who was the Commander-in-Chief of the indian Army. He took over as the 27th Commander-in-Chief of the indian army on december 31, 2019. Before taking this responsibility, Naravane was the Commander-in-Chief of the army and the Eastern Regional commander of the army responsible for guarding the 4000 km border with China. Naravane has effectively served in various important challenging missions in the indian army for over 40 years.
Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria has the longest experience after Naravane. Bhadauria, who joined the air Force in 1980, recently retired after 41 years of service.
