The Treasury officers cleared encroachments on the Alavandar Trust's property in the Pattipulam village near Mamallapuram and retrieved the lands worth Rs. 12 crore on the High Court's directives. The Alavandar Trust has 1,050 acres of land along the ECR Road from Mamallapuram to Kovalam in Chengalpattu District. These lands are used in a variety of ways. As a result, the chennai High court has ordered that encroachments on the Trust's property be removed by april 30 and that a report be filed to reclaim the lands.The task of removing the encroachments was taken on by Chengalpattu district Charitable Trusts Assistant Commissioner Lakshmikanthan Bharathidasan, who was assisted by Executive Officers Sakthivel, Venkatesan, Vattatsiyar Rajan, Vattatsiyar Prabhakaran, Mamallapuram DSP Jagadeeswaran, and other Charitable Department employees. It was discovered that Chandrameni, the mother of former health secretary Pillai Rajesh Das, was occupying trust-owned land adjoining her own.Following that, land surveyors surveyed the encroachments and eliminated them. Similarly, the Treasury cleaned the area and reclaimed 3.11 acres of land worth Rs 12 crore in the first phase. In addition, a notice board was constructed on the
governor of the area's property. "We have started the process of clearing the encroachments on the land owned by the Governor's Trust on the directions of the
court," Assistant Commissioner Lakshmikanthan Bharathidasan said. The occupations in the Pattipulam region are being removed in the first phase. "On trust-owned land, occupancies will be phased away," he stated.
