In fact, Munshi Chheda Lal, who played the role of Ravana in Bisalpur of Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, died in 1962 while doing Leela. After that, on the day of dussehra in 1978, Moti Maharaj also died in the field. He also died at the time of the Leela of Ravana's slaughter.
Similarly, in 1987, Kallu Mal also gave up his life during Ravana's slaughter. When Kallu Mal was fighting with Rama as Ravana, he died during Ravana's slaughter in Leela. The then DM SP and a crowd of lakhs became the witnesses his death. From that day onwards Ravana is not killed here on the day of Dussehra.
After the death of Kallu Mal in Ramlila Maidan, an idol has also been installed, this ram Leela became historic. Since then, every time Ravana is killed, people get scared.
