As the US President announced plans to create 5 lakh electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the nation, Elon Musk on sunday recommended Joe Biden to get a Tesla. The first tranche of funding for a national network of EV charging stations, which would finance the building of stations in 35 states, was just announced by Biden. "Around the nation, we are erecting 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations. The long American drive will be entirely electric "Biden wrote on Twitter. "Or you can simply purchase a tesla," Musk retorted.

From the @POTUS account, Biden added: "You hired me to get things done – I hope I'm making you proud." Again, Musk retorted, "I kinda enjoy this post to be honest." After the President failed to mention tesla at his State of the Union address, Musk claimed earlier this year that nobody was watching Biden. According to Musk, no one is watching the State of the Union address. In contrast to tesla, which was not mentioned in Biden's speech to the country, he had praised the combined $18 billion investments made by ford and GM to produce electric automobiles.

"Tesla has generated over 50,000 US jobs producing electric vehicles and is investing more than double GM + ford combined," Musk subsequently tweeted in response to Biden. The tesla CEO had claimed that Biden "is treating the American public like fools." However, Biden had stated in february that the nation is constructing a trustworthy national public charging network to counter Chinese challenge in the EV market—his first-ever public acknowledgment of Musk-run Tesla's contribution to the world of EVs.
