Prime minister Narendra Modi arrived in dubai on thursday to attend the World Climate Action Summit, which will take place with the United Nations' 'Conference of the Parties' on climate change, known as COP28. At the airport, he was greeted by uae Interior minister and Deputy prime minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"Landed in dubai to take part in the COP28 Summit. Looking forward to the proceedings of the Summit, which are aimed at creating a better planet," PM Modi posted on X. The prime minister will hold meetings with global leaders and participate in special events aimed at furthering climate action, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.


As PM Modi arrived at the hotel, he greeted the indian community members, who chanted slogans such as 'Modi, Modi', 'Ab Ki Baar Modi Sarkar' and 'Vande Mataram'. M Modi said he was "deeply moved" by the warm welcome from the indian community in Dubai. The World Climate Action Summit is the COP28's high-level session. Several international leaders are expected to attend the summit to explore methods to cut greenhouse gas emissions and battle climate change efficiently. PM Modi is also slated to attend three more high-level side events. The uae is hosting the COP28, which runs from november 30 to december 12.
