19 years of one of the greatest disasters in history of Tamilnadu..!?

It was the year 2005 when the world was moving towards the New Year celebrations. It can be said that in tamil Nadu too, the celebrations were very loud. About 19 years ago on this same day, i.e. 26th december 2004, as it was a sunday, people who celebrated the christmas holiday went to many places to spend the sunday pleasantly. Especially they went to the beach which is a beautiful place that nature has given us. Then there was a great earthquake near the island of Sumatra. It is said that a large part of Sumatra has gone underwater due to a series of earthquakes in the last few centuries. Although earthquakes are common there, it is new to tamil Nadu. The undersea earthquake caused landslides along the coasts of about 14 countries.
Similarly, a wave hit many coastal areas of tamil Nadu, starting from Velankanni, Nagor, and Kanyakumari and reaching chennai Marina with waves of more than 30 feet engulfing residents. More than 10,000 people died across tamil Nadu in a single day. There were death cries everywhere in tamil Nadu, in which more than 6000 people died in Nakhapattinam alone.Even though 19 years have passed since this event, there are still many relationships that are withered, not knowing if their loved ones are alive or not. This 26th december has become a scar that will not go away and will not heal in the minds of the people of tamil Nadu. Those who buried their families in the sea, without even getting their bodies to perform the last rites, are observing mourning today by throwing flowers in the sea.
It is noteworthy that more than 200 people died in chennai due to this tsunami which caused damage of tens of crores of rupees. The lesson we learned that day has taught us many new safety measures. Although we haven't come across avalanches since then, various security measures have been taken to escape their clutches.
