The delhi high court is hearing the appeal filed by delhi chief minister arvind kejriwal, which contests his apprehension by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). After arvind kejriwal was detained on march 21, a delhi court remanded him to the investigation agency's custody until march 28. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma will hear Kejriwal's appeal, which calls for his immediate release due to the detention and his remand to the Enforcement Directorate being "illegal."
 
The chief minister had petitioned the high court last week, but he was denied an urgent hearing since the court was closed for Holi, according to well-placed sources.
 
Kejriwal was placed under remand by the trial court on Friday, with the Enforcement Directorate holding him until march 28 "for his detailed and sustained interrogation".
 
Hours after the high court denied Kejriwal's request for immunity from the federal anti-money laundering agency's coercive action, the Enforcement Directorate detained him.
 
Kejriwal has already petitioned the court to revoke and set aside all of the actions taken against him, including the summons.
 
The issue concerns the alleged use of money laundering and corruption in the development and implementation of the excise strategy for 2021–2022 that was later abandoned by the delhi government.
 
Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, prominent AAP leaders, are being held in judicial custody over the matter.
 
The chargesheets that the Enforcement Directorate has filed contain several references to Kejriwal.
