A guy went on a stabbing spree across many places in northern Illinois, leaving four people dead and seven wounded, according to authorities. The Associated press cited Rockford police Chief Carla Redd as stating that the police had taken a 22-year-old male into custody and were interviewing him. According to her, one of the attack victims was in serious condition. At 1:14 p.m. (local time), according to Redd, the Rockford officers received a medical call. Subsequently, they received requests for more officers and paramedics.
 
She claimed that more suspects had been ruled out in the investigation and that the authorities were looking into the attack's motivation.
 
"At this moment, we don't think there are any further suspects at large or on the run. We don't now know the exact reason for this person's horrific crime," the spokesperson stated.
 
"My heart goes out to the families right now that are suffering a loss," she said.
 
A 15-year-old girl, a 63-year-old lady, a 49-year-old male, and a 22-year-old guy were among the victims who died in the stabbings. Their names were kept a secret by the police.
 
Sheriff Gary Caruana stated that a Winnebago County sheriff's officer apprehended the suspect following the police's response to a report of a home invasion.
 
"The girl escaped from him. She sustained many knife wounds to her face and wrists. She is not doing well at all. To assist her, one of the nice Samaritans pulled over. He was indeed stabbed a few times. Regarding one of the survivors, Caruana stated, "He is being examined.
 
The Rockford police first reported that five persons were hurt. Two additional individuals were hurt, according to a statement made later by Cori Hilliard, a public relations officer with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office.
 
None of the victims were shot, according to Rockford police Chief Redd, and not all of the victims had stab wounds.
 
She urged the locals to look through their home security tapes to see if there was anything connected to the stabbings.
