On Tuesday, the telangana anti-corruption bureau (ACB) detained ACP Uma Maheswara Rao of the Central Crime Station (CCS) for allegedly possessing assets over his known lawful income. umamaheswara rao was the Chief Special Officer in charge of the investigation into the Sahitya Infra case, which involved a multi-crore scam.
 
ACB searches lasted more than ten hours at Uma Maheswara Rao's home in ashok Nagar, as well as a handful of his friends' homes in Hyderabad, the CCS office, and two different locations in Andhra Pradesh.
 

ACB officers have identified Rao's 17 properties, including 5 in Ghatkesar. His apartment yielded Rs 38 lakh in cash as well as 600 grams of gold. The entire worth of the confiscated items was estimated to be roughly Rs 3 crore.
 
During the search, officials reportedly located Uma Maheswara Rao's bank vaults and discovered some important property paperwork.
 
The ACP was accused of corruption during his previous service as ACP Ibrahimpatnam. In the Sahitya Infra case, there were charges that money was taken from the accused. There were claims that he had collected enormous sums of money in land disputes by assisting the culprits rather than the victims.
 

ACP Uma Maheswara Rao is also accused of threatening bjp leader Charan Chaudhary and allegedly transferring Rs 30 lakhs through Charan's acquaintances with the aid of Task Force DCP Radhakishan Rao.
 
Radhakishan Rao is one of the primary suspects in the infamous phone-tapping case, and he is now in judicial detention.
 
The acb officials maintained a close eye on Uma Maheswara Rao after receiving concerns about him, who was discovered to have acquired assets beyond his salary.
