The united states has declared that all foreign aid would be suspended and directed that all American financial help to other nations be reviewed to make sure it is effective and aligned with its foreign policy under the America First agenda. President donald trump issued an executive order in this respect, which prompted the action.

"President trump made it clear that the united states will no longer heedlessly distribute funds with no return for the American people," said State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce on Sunday. In addition to being the correct thing to do, reviewing and reallocating foreign aid on behalf of diligent taxpayers is also morally required.

According to her, all US foreign aid provided by the State Department or via the US Agency for international Development (USAID) has been put on hold pending review by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

"He is initiating a review of all foreign assistance programs to ensure they are efficient and consistent with US foreign policy under the America First agenda," Bruce stated.

She said that the secretary is honored to safeguard American investment by carefully and prudently examining how to use foreign aid funds abroad.

"Refocusing on American national interests was the unambiguous directive from the American people. A representative for the State Department stated, "The Department and USAID take their role as stewards of taxpayer dollars very seriously."

According to her, that goal is furthered by the secretary's guidance and the execution of Trump's Executive Order.

"Every dollar we spend, every program we fund, and every policy we pursue must be justified with the answer to three simple questions: Does it make America safer?" Bruce reminded reporters that Rubio had stated. Is America stronger as a result? Does it increase the prosperity of America?

USAID provided 158 nations with about USD 45 billion in foreign aid in 2023. bangladesh received USD 400 million, pakistan USD 231 million, afghanistan USD 1 billion, india USD 175 million, nepal USD 118 million, and sri lanka USD 123 million.
