Former Pakistani cricket player Danish Kaneria has criticized his country's deputy prime minister Ishaq Dar for referring to the terrorists as "freedom fighters," a day after criticizing pakistan prime minister Shehbaz Sharif for being silent about the pahalgam terror assault. On Tuesday, april 22, terrorists killed 26 people in a devastating attack on a well-known tourist destination in Pahalgam.  Since the Pulwama tragedy in 2019, this was the bloodiest assault to hit the kashmir Valley.

The massacre has been attributed to the Resistance Front (TRF), a branch of the outlawed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).  World leaders have voiced their opposition to terrorism in response to the atrocity, which has drawn worldwide condemnation.
To the astonishment of all, Ishaq Dar has strangely referred to them as "freedom fighters."  Kaneria took offense at the remark, calling it "disgraceful" and claiming it was an outright admission of harboring terrorists. “When the Deputy prime minister of pakistan calls terrorists “freedom fighters,” it’s not just a disgrace — it’s an open admission of state-sponsored terrorism,” wrote Kaneria on his X account.

"Those who carried out attacks in Jammu and Kashmir's pahalgam district on april 22 might be freedom fighters," Dar had told reporters in Islamabad.  Kaneria has accused Pakistani prime minister Shehbaz Sharif of "sheltering and nurturing terrorists" and criticized his silence on the issue.

The former cricket player has been outspoken about his nation's government's response to terrorism and has publicly criticized them for providing them with sanctuary and protection.
