The Baloch Liberation army (BLA) has taken credit for deploying a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) to destroy a convoy of Pakistani army soldiers in a devastating attack close to Quetta, Pakistan. According to the BLA's official statement, ten Pakistani soldiers were killed in the Margat area when their vehicle was destroyed in the explosion.

Baloch fighters successfully carried out the operation against what they characterized as "occupying forces" in the area, according to a news release from BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, who verified the strike. The attack was described by the group as part of their ongoing resistance activities in Balochistan.

This most recent strike comes after the same separatist group was involved in a high-profile event last month. In that instance, 339 passengers were held prisoner when BLA militants took control of the Jaffar Express in Bolan.

Twenty-five people were killed when the hijacking turned lethal. When militants set off explosives on the track, the train—which was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar—was stopped, causing the engine and many coaches to partially derail within a tunnel.

Regarding the IED attack, authorities have not yet issued an official statement.  According to reports, investigations are in progress.
