Despite all indications that her tenure as Wonder Woman was coming to an end, Gal Gadot maintained in 2023 that she was being prepared to reprise her role as Diana Prince. Since james Gunn is still looking for Batman and cast Superman's lead in David Corenswet, there is no reason to think he would add the Justice League hero to complete the DCU's Trinity.

As mentioned, Gadot has discussed meeting with Peter Safran and Gunn on numerous occasions.  She even said they promised her she would reprise her role as the legendary DC Comics character in a new Wonder Woman film while promoting Netflix's heart of Stone.

Despite this, Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 3 was canceled nearly soon after DC Studios was established because it didn't align with the DCU's new course.  When the SAG-AFTRA strike was in full force, the actress was unable to answer, so the trades made her a liar by publishing a solid denial that was obviously provided to them by the studio.

With Adria Arjona, star of Andor, frequently mentioned as playing the next version of the adored character, the majority of fans have already moved on from Gadot's Wonder Woman.

When asked about the possibility of dressing up as Wonder Woman during the promotion of season 2 of the Star Wars series, Arjona seemed to be picking her words carefully.  She did, however, bring up her and Gunn's past, and she most definitely did not rule out taking on the part. "He gave me my first movie ever...my first studio movie," she said, referring to The Belko Experiment. "So I owe him a lot. I love james Gunn...I don’t know."
