Marvel Studios obtained the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises when Disney purchased 20th Century Fox.

The integration of Marvel's First Family into the MCU has long been a mystery, and during the Multiverse Saga, we will encounter a parallel universe version of the squad. They are anticipated to eventually settle on Earth-616, which, like the X-Men, is probably going to occur in a subtly revamped MCU after Avengers: Secret Wars.

We revealed information about a brand-new tie-in comic that takes place in the universe of The Fantastic Four: First Steps earlier today. According to Deadline's source, the one-shot "confirms a few things that fans have speculated about, including that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is not an origin story, but will pick up four years after they become heroes."

Although it's obvious that The Fantastic Four: First Steps won't be an origin narrative, it's intriguing that the heroes had possessed their powers for at least four years.  They are a well-established crew, therefore they should make sure that the reboot doesn't repeat themes from the 2005, 2007 and 2015 films.

While the trailer hinted at at least some pre-transformation flashbacks using news footage, there have been long-standing rumors that the reboot will begin with a summary of all the threats the team has encountered throughout that time.
