After the pahalgam terrorist attack, the political atmosphere in the country is also hot. The chief minister of karnataka had recently said that he is not in favor of war with Pakistan. He became a headline in Pakistani media and it made full use of this statement. Now that he has given clarification on the matter, BJP taunted him and called him pakistan Ratna.
Karnataka cm said on X, "I have seen debates and discussions in favor and against my statement about war. War should always be the last option of a nation. The horrific terrorist attack in pahalgam by Pakistan-backed terrorists has made it clear to both the people of our country and the central government that there were serious flaws in our intelligence and security system. Now it is the serious responsibility of the government to first correct these shortcomings and ensure that such tragedies are not repeated in future." He said, "At this critical moment, countries across the world stand firmly with India, strongly condemning Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. We must take advantage of this unprecedented global support and teach pakistan such a deep lesson that they never dare to commit such reckless acts again."
Why did Siddaramaiah's statement make headlines in Pakistan?
Earlier, Siddaramaiah had stirred up a controversy by saying that there was no need to wage war against Pakistan. He said yesterday, "Strict security measures should be introduced. We are not in favour of waging war. There should be peace, people should feel safe and the central government should ensure effective security arrangements."
After this, Pakistani media, including Pakistan's news channel Geo news, covered the karnataka Chief Minister's comments and described him as a "voice against war from within India".
