With some of the most relatable characters in the MCU, Thunderbolts* is a brand-new type of MCU adventure that tells a very human story.  With all the action and comedy one might anticipate, along with a surprisingly deep pool of emotion, the film puts the most well-known antiheroes in the MCU in a life-or-death scenario that calls for cooperation from them all.  Jake Schreier (Beef, Skeleton Crew) directed the film, and Eric Pearson (Black Widow, Godzilla vs. Kong) and Joanna Calo (The Bear, BoJack Horseman) wrote the screenplay.

Marvel's most recent film also highlights underrepresented and new characters.  Robert “Bob” Reynolds, often known as The Sentry or The Void, is the most notable of the new.  Lewis Pullman, who plays Bob, is accused of stealing the show in ScreenRant's Thunderbolts* review.  Hannah John-Kamen's Ava Starr, sometimes known as Ghost, who was a standout character in 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp and had not previously appeared in the MCU, is one of the underappreciated.

In the new movie, Pullman talked about discovering Bob's emotional core, while John-Kamen considered Ghost's less tormented sense of self.  Pullman also discussed how his decision to play his role was influenced by his certain return to the MCU in the impending Avengers: Doomsday. Fans, reporters, and celebrities are usually on the edge of their seats at Marvel Cinematic Universe press junkets. Secrets are crucial when it comes to marketing films that are renowned for their unexpected character cameos and introductions as well as other superpowered twists.

“There’s a lot of acting that needs to be done in circumstances where you shouldn’t be acting; you should be telling the truth,” Bob actor Lewis Pullman said on that subject. “But, obviously I was under contract and was worried for my life, so I did my job and didn't say anything.”

“And there is some relief in that,” he continued, “because you’re a little bit like, ‘Okay, it’s cool to be able to protect the story a little bit in a day and age where a lot of spoilers are easy to come by,’ so it felt like an honorable duty of mine.”
