The current situation in pakistan is pointing towards a dramatic change in political equations. Amid rising tensions with india after the pahalgam terror attack and a possible military response, Pak army Chief Asim Munir and prime minister Shahbaz Sharif have sought help from jailed former prime minister Imran Khan.

According to sources, four former military officers have been sent to imran khan to persuade PTI to stop protesting against Asim Munir and stop demonstrations in Sindh. After the Pulwama attack in 2019, then PM imran khan removed ISI Chief Asim Munir before the end of his term. This was the first time in the history of ISI. Since then, relations between Asim Munir and Imran Khan had become very tense. It is believed that due to this enmity, Asim Munir had devised a strategy to send Imran to jail. Now the same Asim Munir is forced to ask for help from Imran Khan.

Signs of change in political equation

After the pahalgam attack, the strong political and military signals from India have created a stir in the internal politics of Pakistan. Siren systems, bunker construction and red alerts in areas like Sindh, Karachi and Lahore have created fear among the public. The Pakistan government fears that rebellion can erupt within the country, especially they are afraid of PTI supporters and movements in Sindh. Therefore, Asim Munir and Shahbaz Sharif have chosen the path of appeasing imran khan, so that the ongoing protests in the country can be pacified.

Pakistan fears India

After the terrorist attack on 22 april in pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, india has taken strict action against Pakistan. The government canceled the Indus Water Treaty. Since then, Pakistani leaders are also making continuous statements. They are afraid that india can attack them anytime.
