Following the recent terror attack in pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Moradabad police have identified 22 Pakistani women who are on permanent visas and reside in the district. Between them, they have given birth to 95 children in India. All of their children are indian by birth, even though the ladies are still nationals of Pakistan.

According to authorities, the women came to india in recent decades, primarily after being married to indian males.  Some had been in the area for much longer, while two arrived as recently as four years ago.

Children are indian citizens, but mothers still hold Pakistani passports
According to police investigations, a large number of these youngsters are now adults, some of whom are married and have their own families.  Approximately 35% of the women have become grandmothers.  The district presently has more than 500 residents, including these families' children and grandchildren.

Even though they are still foreign nationals, the women have Aadhaar and indian ration cards.  Although none of them have received indian citizenship yet, these provide them access to assistance programs.  According to reports, all 22 women have sought citizenship and are still in the nation with valid long-term visas.

No deportations yet, but security checks continue
Police in the district are gathering comprehensive information about every family of Pakistani descent, according to Kumar Ranvijay Singh, the Superintendent of police (City) of Moradabad.  "A thorough data collection process is in progress."  "We are compiling data on all Pakistani-origin families in the region, including their family sizes, overseas connections, ration card usage, and visa application status," he said.

In addition, authorities are tracking down the 95 children who were born in india and looking for any active relationships with family members in Pakistan.  The women and their relatives have not yet been the subject of deportation orders.  However, because of national security concerns, their legal and visa status is still being reviewed.

Following the pahalgam terror assault, india suspends all ties with Pakistan.

In response to the terror assault in pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, india severed all diplomatic ties with Pakistan.  Additionally, it eliminated all visa categories for citizens of Pakistan, which led to increased scrutiny of foreign residents, particularly those with ties to Pakistan.  This action prompted a more thorough security audit in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, the state in which Moradabad is situated.
