Ellie and Dina's friendship has been beautifully adapted in The Last of Us season 2, but I'm amazed at how drastically the program altered their crucial theater scene.  After arriving in Seattle, Ellie and Dina begin their hunt for Abby in "Day One," the fourth episode of season two of The Last of Us.  While it omits many combat encounters and open-world exploration, it nonetheless adheres quite closely to the game.  They follow the W.L.F. to a television station, where they discover that the Seraphites had slaughtered every wolf present. They are then pursued into a subway tunnel that is infected with clickers.

In all versions, Ellie and Dina hide out in an abandoned theater after barely fleeing the train.  One of the most important moments in their relationship occurs when Dina discovers that Ellie is immune to the Cordyceps virus and Ellie learns that Dina is pregnant.  The scenario from the tv show still reveals both of these secrets, but it takes a very different turn.  Although there have been several significant modifications made to the game in The Last of Us season 2, the reworking of this sequence may be the most significant one to date.

Gas masks can be used to protect players from the airborne spores that propagate the Cordyceps virus in the game, in addition to bites. Ellie's mask breaks, allowing her to breathe in spores as she and Dina flee the train.  They must go because they are surrounded by sick people, but Dina finds what she is witnessing unbelievable.  Ellie's shattered gas mask accidentally showed Dina that she was entirely immune.  However, the method Dina learns of Ellie's immunity is cleverly altered in the tv series' adaptation of this sequence.

Dina demonstrates her immunity in the tv show by putting her arm in the way of a clicker to keep her from getting bitten. Her bravery and fast thinking allow her to use her "superpower" for good.  Seeing Ellie tackle an issue with her immunity is always entertaining.  She used it to stop David from chopping her up in season 1, and she performs the same thing in the end of The Last of Us Part II (without giving it away).
