Many Pakistanis were in a panic as images of India's Operation Sindoor inundated social media. Two weeks after the terror incident in pahalgam that killed 26 civilians, india launched strategic strikes on terror camps in Pakistan-occupied kashmir (PoK) early on Wednesday.

The mission's goal, to destroy terror groups' launchpads and camps over the Line of Control (LoC), was verified by the indian Army.  The targeted attacks set off a flurry of panicked searches in Sindh, Punjab, and Islamabad, among other parts of Pakistan.

Google Flooded with Questions
As the news broke, Pakistani citizens took to google in large numbers, asking questions like:

"What is Operation Sindoor?"

"India missile attack?"

"India fired missile Pakistan?"

"India declares war?"

Interestingly, one of the top trending searches was "What is Sindoor?"

Traditionally used by indian married ladies to refer to vermillion, the term had acquired a new metaphorical significance.  Sindoor was mentioned about the pahalgam murders, which claimed the lives of numerous recently married men.  Worn as a sign of identity and affection, the vermillion also reflected the spirit of the indian warriors who carried out the retaliatory attacks.

Two other popular searches, "What is Sindoor in English?" and "Operation Sindoor wiki," demonstrated a definite increase in public interest and worry.
