The petition filed in the allahabad High court in the citizenship dispute case of senior congress leader rahul gandhi has been rejected. The lucknow Bench of the allahabad High court has allowed the petitioner to file a review petition and has rejected the new petition based on withdrawal. In fact, on May 5 itself, a petition of the petitioner on the same dispute was dismissed by the lucknow Bench of the High Court. While filing the new petition, it was also claimed to present some new evidence. It was demanded that rahul Gandhi's foreign travel be banned until a decision is taken on this petition.

This petition was filed by S Vignesh Shishir of Karnataka. However, the court said that the petitioner has the option of filing a review petition in the dismissed petition. Petitioner S Vignesh Shishir had raised questions on Rahul Gandhi's citizenship and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the matter. The petition claimed that the leader of Opposition in the lok sabha has united kingdom (UK) citizenship.

The petitioner alleged that he has evidence that proves that rahul gandhi holds british citizenship. The petitioner also claimed that he had complained twice to the competent authority about rahul Gandhi's dual citizenship, but no action was taken.
