An official disclosed on sunday how influencers like Jyoti Malhotra are enlisted for spying after the influencer's arrest for allegedly spying for Pakistan. When discussing the Jyoti Malhotra espionage case with the media, hisar Superintendent of police (SP) shashank Kumar Sawan claimed that Pakistani intelligence agents are 'pushing their narrative' through indian social media influencers.

"Warfare in the modern era is not limited to border conflicts. The PIOs are attempting to enlist social media influencers to promote their story.  We detained Jyoti Malhotra after receiving information from the central authorities.  She had been to china once and pakistan several times.  She had communication with the PIOs.  Sawan informed the media, "We have placed her under police remand for five days."

According to the police officer, Jyoti Malhotra allegedly spoke with Pakistani intelligence agents during the current war between the two nations, which intensified during India's Operation Sindoor. "Her financial information is being examined. She kept in contact with the PIOs during the Indo-Pak conflict. Her travel itinerary contradicts her total revenue," he continued.

The arrest of Jyoti Malhotra
After india and pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, travel blogger Jyoti Malhotra was arrested for allegedly spying and giving Pakistani agents critical information. This is the third arrest from haryana this week.

Malhotra, a hisar resident, admitted to giving Pakistani agents vital information, which led to her detention on national security grounds. She was charged under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act and Sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, of 1923.  A five-day police remand has been imposed on her.

Sub-inspector Sanjay filed a report, which led to the registration of a formal case at the hisar Civil Lines police station.  The FIR claims that the blogger met Ehsan-ur-Rahim, also known as Danish, a staff member at the pakistan High Commission (PHC) in New Delhi, on her 2023 visit to the PHC.

She was allegedly employed to actively promote a positive image of pakistan on social media and supplied sensitive information about sites in India.

Her father, Harish Malhotra, said his daughter had traveled to the neighboring nation to film videos and asked why she was unable to get in touch with her friends who were there if she wanted to.
