There has been strong opposition to this speech in Karnataka.
Karnataka state politicians have condemned Kamal Haasan's speech and urged him to apologize. But kamal haasan, undeterred by this, has categorically said that he will not apologize. Due to this, a situation has arisen in which he is acting in the film 'Thug Life' which will be released in Karnataka. The state minister himself has openly said that if Kamal does not apologize, he will insist on banning the film.
In this situation, a complaint has been filed against kamal haasan at the Bengaluru police station for his speech at the Thug Life festival that kannada was born from Tamil. A complaint has been filed by praveen Reddy, an administrator of the kannada organization, alleging that he hurt the sentiments of Kannadigas.
