"There is space for both of us; they come out two weeks after us! I adore my Marvel pals. Online, you can find any kind of debate you're looking for. Instead of getting caught up in online fandom disputes, I would concentrate on all the positive aspects of the movies. james Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios and the filmmaker of this summer's Superman, said as much. The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the MCU film that will debut two weeks after the DCU's initial theatrical release, is what he's talking about.

It's true that there is a Superman vs. Fantastic Four debate on social media, whether it's about possible box office receipts or which film will score higher on Rotten Tomatoes. Although a little rivalry never hurts anyone, we think that supporting both films this summer will be the finest thing any fan can do.  We're delving further into why you should make watching both films a priority in this feature.

DC fans had a very bad year in 2023.  Shazam!  Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is one of the worst sequels ever, The Flash was a hideous mess, and Fury of the Gods was a forgettable beginning to the year.  Blue Beetle was good, albeit a little simple.

James Gunn and Peter Safran are now in charge of the DCU's future.  The success of Superman is crucial to the franchise, even though Lanterns and Supergirl will be released this summer regardless. There's a good risk Warner Bros. Discovery will abandon the DC brand and only release the occasional Batman film if fans don't show up for the relaunch. This was the norm for decades.  Whether you like him or not, Gunn is a better choice for DC than the unpredictable David Zaslav.

Marvel Studios hasn't had the best start to 2024 after Deadpool & Wolverine broke records the previous year.  Even positive reviews couldn't help Thunderbolts* soar at the box office, and Captain America: Brave New World was a critical and commercial failure.

You can disregard the possibility of a sequel if The Fantastic Four: First Steps follows the same trajectory.  Given their previous run of unsuccessful films, Marvel's First Family would be reduced to minor roles in the Avengers franchise as a result of this film's poor reception.
