tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin on monday laid the foundation stone for a new tamil Nadu Haj House, marking a significant step toward improving facilities for Haj pilgrims from the state. The project aims to provide better infrastructure, comfort, and administrative support for pilgrims undertaking the sacred journey to Mecca.
The new Haj house is being planned as a modern, fully equipped facility that will cater to the needs of thousands of pilgrims every year. It will include accommodation halls, training and orientation centres, medical facilities, administrative offices, and dining areas, ensuring that pilgrims receive comprehensive support before their departure.
Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony, chief minister stalin said that the tamil Nadu government is committed to ensuring equal access to welfare facilities for people of all communities. He emphasized that the Haj house would serve as a vital support system, helping pilgrims prepare physically, mentally, and spiritually for their journey.
The chief minister highlighted that special attention would be given to senior citizens, women, and first-time pilgrims, with facilities designed to meet their specific needs. Orientation programmes on Haj rituals, health precautions, and travel guidelines will also be conducted at the new complex.
Officials from the Tamil Nadu Haj Committee, senior government officers, and representatives of the Muslim community were present at the event. They welcomed the initiative and noted that the new Haj house would significantly reduce logistical challenges faced by pilgrims, especially during peak travel seasons.
The project reflects the state government’s broader vision of inclusive development and social harmony, ensuring that religious and cultural needs are addressed alongside infrastructure growth. Once completed, the new tamil Nadu Haj house is expected to become a central hub for Haj-related activities, benefiting pilgrims for many years to come.
