SP Alleges BLOs Declaring Living Voters as Dead in UP: Demands Strict Action
Allegations Against Booth Level Officers (BLOs)
The Samajwadi party (SP) has raised serious concerns over the actions of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Uttar Pradesh.
BLOs allegedly declared several living voters as deceased during the voter list revision process.
SP submitted a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer demanding strict action against those responsible.
Specific Case in jhansi Sadar Constituency
In polling station number 2 of the jhansi Sadar assembly constituency, 23 voters had submitted their enumeration forms to the BLO.
Despite being alive, all 23 voters were declared deceased by the BLO.
A written complaint, including photocopies of the completed enumeration forms and online details of the voters, was submitted to the district election Officer.
No action has been taken by the authorities so far.
SP Demands Action from election Commission
The memorandum urges the election commission to take immediate and strict action against the guilty BLOs.
The SP has called for urgent investigation into similar complaints in other areas, including kanpur Dehat and Badaun.
Additional Complaints in Other Constituencies
Kanpur Dehat: Issues reported with the mapping of the 2003 voter list in the Akbarpur Rania assembly constituency, causing difficulties for voters in filling out enumeration forms.
Badaun: In Sheikhupur assembly constituency, concerns were raised over a possible conflict of interest as the bjp appointed the same person as both the BLO and the Booth Level Agent (BLA) at polling station number 116.
SP Leaders Involved in the Complaint
The memorandum was submitted by SP State Secretary kk Srivastava, Dr. Harishchandra Singh Yadav, and Radheshyam Singh.
They have demanded swift and effective action from the election commission to ensure the integrity of the voter list revision process and ensure fairness during the elections.
