Compared to the original success, the new Blumhouse horror film has a low Rotten Tomatoes rating. Although Blumhouse, which was founded by Jason Blum in 2000, has produced films in a variety of genres over the past 25 years, its horror films—which include well-known franchises like Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and The Purge—are its most well-known output.

However, with a strong 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, their Speak No Evil version concluded 2024 on a positive note.  This year has been more uneventful, with Drop scoring a solid 84% and The Woman in the Yard a dismal 39%.  The upcoming horror film from Blumhouse is a follow-up to a 2022 blockbuster.

M3GAN 2.0 Debuts With An Underwhelming Rotten Tomatoes Score

The Original movie Has A Strong 93% Score

Compared to the first film, M3GAN 2.0 has a disappointing Rotten Tomatoes rating.  The sequel, which is a follow-up to 2022's M3GAN, focuses on rebuilding the titular model 3 generative android to battle a humanoid military robot that is spearheading an AI rebellion. The robot was made using her own technology.

Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Amie Donald, Jenna Davis, and Brian jordan Alvarez are back in M3GAN 2.0, which is directed by Gerard Johnstone once more and with a script that he co-wrote with Akela Cooper.  Timm Sharp, Jemaine Clement, Aristotle Athari, and Ivanna Sakhno are among the new cast members.

A few days before its premiere, M3GAN 2.0 has already made its debut with a 61% review score on Rotten Tomatoes, which isn't awful, but it's not as high as the previous film's 93%.  At the time of writing, the sequel had 57 reviews, so if more are released, its rating may change.
