Chennai: The chief minister of tamil Nadu, M. K. stalin, stated that the state government has achieved the equivalent of 50 years of development in just five years in Chennai through various large-scale infrastructure and civic improvement projects.
Remark at Civic Development Event
Speaking at an event highlighting the achievements of the Greater chennai Corporation, chief minister M. K. stalin emphasized that the government has implemented numerous initiatives to modernize the city and improve public infrastructure.
He said the administration has taken continuous efforts to transform chennai into a more resilient, modern, and citizen-friendly metropolitan city.
Major Urban Development Initiatives
The chief minister highlighted several major projects undertaken in the city over the past five years. These include improvements in stormwater drainage systems, road infrastructure, public health services, waste management, and urban amenities.
Many of these projects were implemented to address long-standing civic challenges and to make the city better prepared to handle heavy rains and urban growth.
Focus on Infrastructure and Public Welfare
According to M. K. stalin, the government has focused on both infrastructure development and public welfare initiatives. Efforts have been made to enhance basic civic facilities, strengthen disaster preparedness, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
The administration has also prioritized the modernization of corporation schools, healthcare facilities, and public spaces across the city.
