She had said, "I had an epileptic seizure at the age of 15. remember I was under a lot of pressure to do well in my studies at that time. Stress and anxiety can cause seizures. It is interconnected, you can have an seizure due to depression and vice versa."

Self-confidence decreased due to epilepsy

The actress had clearly explained how this situation affected her confidence and ability to work. She had said, "I used to have seizures in classes, behind the stage, on the streets and everywhere, which reduced my self-confidence."

Career was affected due to illness

Talking about the impact of epileptic seizures on her career after Kaanta Laga, Shefali said, "After doing Kaanta Laga, people asked me why I don't work much. Now I can say that it was because of epileptic seizures that I couldn't work much. I didn't know when I would get the next seizure... this continued for 15 years."

Shefali's illness was cured for 9 years
