A man is seen sitting in the middle of a road in the Biloli Taluka of Nanded district, trying to rip out a section of it with his bare hands in a video that is quickly going viral. Remarkably, with less effort, the road's surface begins to crumble, and he continues to remove larger and larger pieces of asphalt, revealing a layer of stones beneath.
Potholes started to form on the road connecting Dugaon in the Nashik district and Dongargaon in the pune district a month after it was built. According to locals, the road's asphalt was applied sparingly, and the layer underneath it was also improperly prepared. netizens blame the bjp government for corruption as contractors loot taxpayers' money.
While protesting about the subpar construction, the man in the video removes at least four feet of the asphalt layer. Action against the contractor has also been urged by the local populace.
In 2023, a similar incident occurred in the state's Jalna region when residents used their hands to "lift" the top layer of a recently built road, revealing a fabric underneath. A road in bihar attracted news last month as well because it was constructed around tall trees, creating an actual obstacle course.
The road in Jehanabad, which is roughly 50 kilometers from Patna, was built for Rs 100 crore, and according to locals, the trees have caused numerous accidents. The district government chose to construct the road around the trees after being refused permission to cut them down.
