Part of a bridge connecting anand and Padra in Padra taluka of vadodara district of Gujarat collapsed. As soon as the bridge collapsed, many vehicles fell into the Mahisagar River. It is being reported that nine people have died in this accident, while nine people have been rescued.
Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra patel expressed grief over the incident and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. PM Modi has expressed grief over the accident. PM Modi has also announced compensation for the victims of the accident. Two lakh rupees will be given to the families of each deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.
According to the information, a part of the bridge connecting anand and Padra fell into the Mahisagar river on wednesday morning. According to initial information, four vehicles, including two trucks, a Bolero SUV, and a pickup van, were crossing the bridge when it suddenly collapsed, and many vehicles fell into the Mahisagar river. Nine people have died in this accident.
Eyewitnesses said that a loud sound was heard before the vehicles fell into the river. The fire brigade, local police, and vadodara district administration reached the spot and immediately started rescue operations. Local people also helped in removing the injured from the debris. So far, three people have been rescued and admitted to nearby hospitals.
Gujarat home minister Harsh Sanghvi expressed grief over the bridge accident. Speaking to the media, he said, 9 people have died in the tragic accident on the bridge connecting vadodara and anand districts. Nine others have been rescued. The chief minister has sent a high-level committee to the spot and sought a detailed report. He has also given instructions for strict action in the matter. On the other hand, former delhi chief minister and AAP Convenor arvind kejriwal has expressed grief over the vadodara bridge accident. He said, This accident in gujarat is very sad and painful. A resident said, This bridge is not only dangerous in terms of traffic accidents, but many incidents of suicide have also taken place here. Repeated warnings were given about its condition, but the administration did not pay attention.
Let us tell you that this bridge was built in 1985. The gujarat government had recently approved the construction of a new bridge for Rs 212 crore. At present, the chief minister has ordered an investigation by sending technical experts to the site of the incident.
