The All india Football Federation (AIFF) launched the indian Super League (ISL) in 2013. In 2010, a 15-year agreement was signed with the Football sports Development Corporation (FSDL) to host the series. This agreement ends in december 2025. But a final decision has not been taken yet on the new agreement between the two parties, AIFF and FSDL. Due to this, the FSTL announced that the 12th season (2025-26) will be postponed. There is no clear plan as to when it will start, and there is confusion. Regarding this, sunil Chhetri, captain of the Bengaluru team, who participates in the indian Super League(ISL), said:
A few weeks ago, I received a call on my phone. In which, they said, 'The start of the ISL season may be delayed by at least two weeks.' Actually, this made me a little happy. Because I was on vacation at that time. But the 15-day delay has now become indefinite. The joy has disappeared from my face. The anxiety about how to spend the remaining days has spread. I spoke to the players of other teams. When I asked them about their situation, I realized that my selfishness is not important.
The current situation in indian football is worrying. Players, staff, physiotherapists, and coaches are all worried and scared. It is known that everyone who is interested in football matches is involved in the work of restarting the ISL series. I hope that a solid solution will be found soon. There may be many questions, including how this is possible. But players, medical teams, kitmen, production companies, everyone whose livelihood depends on this series, stay calm. Let's all sail through this storm together. For now, help each other, continue training, and football should start soon. It will happen. This is what he said.
