On the occasion of his 73rd birthday, tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. stalin paid floral tributes at the memorials of former Chief Ministers Kalaignar m. karunanidhi and C.N. Annadurai, fondly known as Anna. The homage ceremony took place at the iconic memorial sites located on marina beach in Chennai.
Marking the day with reverence rather than celebration, chief minister stalin visited the memorial of his father and Dravidian stalwart m. karunanidhi early in the morning. He laid a floral wreath and observed a moment of silence, paying respect to the late leader’s enduring legacy in tamil Nadu’s political and social landscape.
Following this, he proceeded to the memorial of C.N. Annadurai, the founder of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and former chief minister of the state. stalin offered floral tributes there as well, acknowledging Anna’s foundational role in shaping the Dravidian movement and its principles of social justice, equality, and rationalism.
Senior ministers, party leaders, and DMK cadres accompanied the chief minister during the tribute. Several supporters gathered at the memorial sites to extend birthday wishes and express solidarity. party members also organized welfare initiatives across the state, including blood donation camps and distribution of assistance to the underprivileged, to mark the occasion in a socially meaningful manner.
M.K. Stalin’s birthday observance reflected the Dravidian tradition of honoring mentors and ideological leaders. By paying homage at the memorials of Kalaignar and Anna, he reaffirmed his commitment to their vision and to continuing their legacy of governance focused on social welfare and inclusive development.
