Chennai: tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin on tuesday held a high-level consultation meeting at the State Secretariat regarding the preparation of the Interim Budget to be presented in the tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
During the meeting, the chief minister discussed key financial priorities, expenditure planning, and welfare commitments to be included in the interim budget. Senior officials briefed him on the state’s revenue position, ongoing development schemes, and essential allocations required to ensure the continuity of government programs until the presentation of the full budget.
Mr. stalin emphasized that the interim budget should reflect the government’s commitment to public welfare, social justice, and inclusive development, while maintaining fiscal discipline. He instructed officials to ensure that funds for essential services, welfare schemes, and infrastructure projects are adequately provided so that there is no disruption in implementation.
The chief minister also reviewed proposals from various departments and stressed the importance of prioritizing schemes benefiting farmers, women, students, senior citizens, and economically weaker sections. He reiterated that the interim budget should safeguard the interests of all sections of society.
Senior ministers, top bureaucrats, and finance department officials participated in the meeting. Officials stated that the interim budget would focus on continuity rather than new policy announcements, in line with established financial practices.
